Princess Kate’s event may be dwarfed by 2 royals – not Meghan or Harry | Royal | News

As the weather begins to cool and the nights begin to darken, most people start thinking about all things Christmas. But most royal fans’ minds tend to drift towards Princess Catherine’s annual festive event.
The Princess of Wales has been hosting her own “Royal Carols: Together in Christmas” ceremony, which has been held at Westminster Abbey since 2021. The service is held each year during the first week of December to celebrate those who are making a real impact in their communities.
The concert is a success every year and often results in lavish praise for the princess, who is accompanied by her husband Prince William and their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
The Princess is also joined by other members of the Royal Family at the event, with many taking to the stage to support the future Queen.
While it’s always nice to see the royal family come together, I fear Catherine’s big caroling event this year could be overshadowed if two royals are present. And no, I’m not talking about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Over the years, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie (daughters of the infamous Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor) have attended the event; most years Beatrice, 37, was there too.
However, I think it’s safe to say that they probably shouldn’t be on the guest list this year.
Although they were not involved in their father’s scandals and did not lose their royal titles like their parents, Beatrice and Eugenie’s involvement may actually overshadow the event.
Ever since Andrew has been thrust into the royal spotlight over the past few months, sending the Royal Family into crisis, Beatrice and Eugenie’s every move has been watched. Whether they’re going to the Royal Lodge, walking down a London road, or attending an event, cameras are on them. This is probably the most attention they’ve ever received, especially since they’re non-working royals.
So even if they want to attend a festive and happy evening of hymns at Westminster Abbey, is it a wise idea? Probably not.
Princess Catherine works hard for months to ensure the success of the concert and praises those who deserve recognition in society. That’s what the headlines should be focusing on.
But if Beatrice and Eugenie attend, it could be another royal event somewhat tainted by mention of Andrew’s scandals. While I don’t think the princesses should be punished for their father’s actions, I think it would be best for them to skip this year’s event and let Catherine and her hard work be the focus of the evening.
