Prison consultant Sam Mangel reveals on the Daily Beast Podcast that Ghislaine Maxwell was transferred at the orders of higher-ups.
Bureau of Prisons officials transferred convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell to a more comfortable prison after an order from “way over their heads,” a federal prison consultant explained on the Daily Beast Podcast. Sam Mangel, a former inmate who has served as a prison consultant to high-profile figures like Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro, explained that the BOP uses what’s called a public safety factor to determine where each incoming inmate should spend their time. In the case of Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking, the BOP took the rare step of waiving the public safety factor on her sex crime conviction to overcome a “very serious restriction” that would prevent her from being transferred from a federal prison in Florida to a minimum-security prison in Texas.
