Webber fled the scene with Wells still in his car, authorities said. The body was later found in a yard on Newport Church Road in Charlotte Hall, Maryland.

While Wells was pronounced dead at the scene, Webber was located by police at a hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia, and is currently awaiting extradition to Charles County, Maryland, on first- and second-degree murder charges.

Police have not yet explained how the limbless Webber was able to fire his gun or dispose of the body. There are online videos that allegedly show Webber using a gun.

“It is still early in the investigation, but there is no evidence that anyone else was involved in the shooting and that he acted alone,” said Charles County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Diane Richardson. As reported by Fox5DC.com.

Webber was reportedly a quadruple amputee as a baby due to a blood infection that ultimately led to sepsis.

Webber’s mother, Natalie, told ESPN in 2023: ‘They suggested he be baptized and given final rights.’ ‘It wasn’t something that crossed my mind that I was going to lose him.’

Eventually his arms were amputated just above the elbow, giving him the ability to pin objects between his upper arms. It was this trait that allowed him to become a competitive Cornhole player and eventually join the American Cornhole League in 2023.
