AFP reportedly ‘receive reports of a crime’ after Pauline Hanson Muslim comments

The Australian Federal Police reportedly “received a crime report” following Pauline Hanson’s controversial remarks about Muslims.

The One Nation leader faced backlash on Monday this week after asking the question in a Sky News interview: “How can you tell me there are good Muslims?”

An AFP spokesperson has since been reported as saying: Guard The agency was “aware of comments made during a media interview earlier this week”.

“AFP has received crime reports regarding this matter. Further statements will be made at an appropriate time,” they said.

Senator Hanson doubled down on his comments throughout the week, despite “apologizing” for offending some Australian Muslims on Wednesday.

His comments were widely condemned by both sides of the political aisle, particularly political leaders in Sydney’s west, including NSW Digital Government Minister Jihad Dib and Canterbury-Bankstown Mayor Bilal El-Hayek.

AFP has been contacted for comment.

More to come.
