Sai Lays Foundation For Rs 450 Crore- Film City & Cultural Convention Centre

Raipur: Chhattisgarh chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Saturday laid the foundation stone of the Rs 450-crore Film City and Cultural Convention Center here.
The two projects, which are proposed to be developed with the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model on a 100-decare area, are aimed to be completed within two years.
While laying the foundation stone for these projects, Mr. Sai said the Center had approved a fund of Rs 95.79 billion for setting up the Film City and Rs 52.03 billion for the construction of the proposed Tribal and Cultural Convention Centre.
The two projects are proposed to be undertaken under the PPP model and are expected to attract an additional Rs 300 billion from the private sector, he added.
He stated that thus, a long-standing demand of the state was fulfilled.
He stated that the establishment of Film City, called Chitroptola Film City, will give impetus to the film industry of Chhattisgarh, known as Chhollywood, and will elevate the careers of film artistes in the state by providing them with national and international platforms.
Mr. Sai said the proposed Chitroptola Film City will be the most modern city in the country and will attract filmmakers from India and abroad to take up their ventures.
Chhattisgarh is known for its untouched natural forests, green mountains and waterfalls, making the state a destination for film production.
Many Bollywood movies like Newton and web series have been shot in different parts of the state.
He said that the two projects will not only boost the career of artists from Chhattisgarh but also help youth get employment opportunities by promoting tourism.
