MUDA case: Bengaluru special court accepts ‘B’ report filed by Lokayukta police giving clean chit to Siddaramaiah and wife Parvathi

In a major relief to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, on January 28, 2026, a special court in Bengaluru accepted the ‘B’ report submitted by the Karnataka Lokayukta police and gave a clean chit to him and his wife BM Parvathi on the complaint regarding alleged illegality and corruption in allotment of 14 areas worth ₹ 56 crore to Ms Parvathi by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).

Special Court for Criminal Cases against former and current MPs and MLAs judge Santosh Gajanan Bhat gave the verdict while dismissing the protest petition filed by complainant Snehamayi Krishna, a Mysuru-based social activist who questioned the outcome of the investigation conducted by the Lokayukta police.

The Governor of Karnataka had, on August 19, 2024, given approval for investigation against Mr. Siddaramaiah under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act, 1988. On September 24, 2024, the Karnataka High Court not only upheld the Governor’s approval but also said that an investigation into the allegations made in Mr. Krishna’s complaint was necessary.

Following this, on September 25, 2024, the special court directed the Superintendent of Police Lokayukta police, Mysuru, to register a First Information Report (FIR) against Mr. Siddaramaiah and others and conduct investigation into the allegations and submit a report to the court.

The court stated that the investigation against the other defendants will continue.
