Pulse Polio Campaign Continues Across Telangana on Second Day

Hyderabad: The statewide Pulse Polio vaccination campaign continued for the second consecutive day on Monday; Health teams made door-to-door visits to give polio drops to children who missed the vaccine on the first day.
According to the health ministry, 38,95,550 children were administered polio drops on the opening day of the campaign, reaching 95.1 per cent of the state target.
Health workers were visiting households across the state on Sunday to ensure uninsured children were vaccinated. The door-to-door campaign will continue on Tuesday to reach the remaining eligible children. There are an estimated 40,97,749 children under the age of five in the state.
Commissioner for Health and Family Welfare Dr. Sangeetha appealed to parents to ensure that every child under the age of five gets the life-saving polio vaccine.
