Putin State Dinner Menu REVEALED: The Vegetarian Thali From Jhol Momo To Badam Halwa At Rashtrapati Bhavan | India News

The end of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to India included the official State Dinner hosted by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The dinner was entirely vegetarian and showcased India’s wide range of traditional/local culinary experiences through traditional Thali-style service.
The menu was designed to offer Russian delegates a gastronomic journey in India and allow them to taste many dishes sophisticatedly prepared with traditional Indian ingredients.

The menu was a culinary journey from Kashmir to the Himalayas:
Starting with the South to North Indian appetizer course, items specific to the region can be found in the Starter Course:
Beginner Course:
- MurungelaiChaaru, South Indian Rasam (soup) was served first.
- Gucchi Doon Chetin – Fresh Morels stuffed with Kashmiri Walnut Chutney was next.
- Next up was Kaale Chane Ke Shikaampuri – Pan Grilled style Black Gram KeBabb.
- Next up was Vegetable Jhol Momo – Himalayan Meatballs with hot Indian gravy.
Main Dishes and Local Breads
The dishes in the main courses largely represented the regional cuisine of North India (i.e. Zafrani Paneer Roll). Most of the items were quite rich and made from saffron, paneer and fresh vegetables.
- Zafrani Paneer Roll (Saffron Paneer Roll)
- Paalak Methy Maataar Ka Saag (Spinach, Fenugreek and Peas)
- Tandoori Bharwaan aloo (Stuffed Potatoes)
- Achari Baingan (Egg plant pickle)
- Yellow Branch Tadka
Additional Items: The main offerings mentioned above were served with Dry Fruits and Saffron Pulao along with a variety of Indian Breads which included Lachcha Parantha, Magaz Naan, Satanaj Roti, Missi Roti and Biskooti Roti.
Desserts and Drinks: Dessert was a healthy drink as a traditional Indian Dessert and pastry to complete the diplomatic evening.
Sweet Ending:
- Badam Ka Halva (Almond Pudding)
- Kesar-Pista Kulfi (Saffron-Pistachio Kulfi)
- The Healthy Drink was a blend of fruit juices containing: Pomegranate, Orange, Carrot and Ginger
- Healthy fruit juices were offered to President Putin.
Diplomatic and Cultural History:
The State Dinner was much more than a meal; It was a Cultural Event celebrating the mutual ties between the two countries
Unique Music Arrangement:
The Rashtrapati Bhavan Naval group performed a Unique Combination of Indian classical raagas like “Amritavarshini” and “Desh” combined with Popular Russian songs like Kalinka and passages from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite.
