Putin warns Trump of ‘extremely harmful consequences’ if US attacks Iran again | World | News

Vladimir Putin has sent a dire warning to Donald Trump warning of “extremely harmful consequences” if the US attacks Iran again, according to reports.

This came as the two discussed the war in Iran and declared a temporary ceasefire in Ukraine in a 90-minute phone call on Wednesday.

Putin’s foreign policy advisor said that the Russian President said that Moscow sees the possibility of a US ground operation against Iran as dangerous.

Russian media reported Trump as saying he predicted “extremely harmful consequences” if the United States and Israel attacked Iran again, and called any ground operation or invasion “extremely dangerous and unacceptable.”

Trump later said: “We had a very nice conversation, I’ve known him a long time.”

He said Putin offered to take Iran’s buried uranium to Russia, but Trump preferred the Russian president to be “involved in ending the war in Ukraine.”

“I said I want to end your war before you help me,” Trump said.

The American president, who has long talked about his friendship with the Russian leader, said he thought they would “find a relatively quick solution” to the war in Ukraine.

Trump said he was “offering some truce” and that Putin “could do that.”

He also implied, as he has done before, that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was at fault for not accepting the peace agreement.

A Russian official said the two discussed a potential temporary ceasefire in Ukraine to mark the anniversary of the end of World War II next month.

A similar proposal was tabled last year, but could not be implemented.

This followed King Charles’ historic speech to Congress in which he called for “unyielding determination” in the continued defense of Ukraine and its people.
