Russian President Vladimir Putin suddenly stopped a public conversation in the “Strong Ideas for New Time” forum in Moscow on Thursday to respond to the phone from US President Donald Trump. Putin excused himself to the audience, announced that he would be “strange” and that he might be uncomfortable with the American counterpart if he was delayed.

Friendly tone, limited progress
Ushakov summarized the leaders as “on the same page” in the call. President Putin also congratulated Trump before the US Independence Day on July 4th.
