Qantas London-Perth flight forced into surprise Karratha fuel stop after weather prompts diversion

Qantas’ non-stop flight from London to Perth made an unexpected stop in the north of Western Australia.
Flight QF10 was diverted to Karratha for refueling on Tuesday.
Passengers specifically chose direct flights to avoid stopovers.
The jet had to return to Karratha in time for lunch and spent about an hour on the tarmac before taking off at 12.58pm.
According to Qantas, changing weather conditions along the 17-hour flight route meant the plane was forced to make an unplanned stop.
The plane is expected to land in Perth before 15:00.
