Queen Elizabeth ‘was on to’ Meghan from the start, new book blasts | Royal | News

A new royal book is about the late Queen Elizabeth II. He claimed that Elizabeth was “into” Meghan Markle at the very beginning of her relationship with Prince Harry. Meghan began dating Harry in the summer of 2016, and the couple married less than two years later.
Veteran political correspondent Susan Page revealed that the late Queen, who died in 2022 at the age of 96, was skeptical of the former employee actor at the very beginning of their relationship. In his book, The Queen and Her Heads: The Hidden Hand That Shaped History, Page shared that the late Queen had become “wary” of Meghan.
He wrote: “Her Majesty had been wary of Meghan as an opportunist – ‘she was on her side from the start,’ the aide said, and someone with the public relations skills to leave the palace’s antiquated press operation in the dust.”
Respected author Tom Bower, writing in new royal book Betrayal: Power, Deceit And The Fight For The Future Of The Royal Family, claims Andrew feels the same way about Meghan.
Bower wrote that there was a shared car ride between Andrew and Harry when they arrived at Westminster Abbey for the King’s coronation.
The awkward atmosphere stemmed from reports that Andrew had called Meghan an “opportunist”.
Bower wrote: “In the cold rain, Harry arrived at the abbey with Andrew. The disgraced Prince was still refusing the King’s orders to move to Frogmore from the 30-bedroom Royal Lodge mansion he occupied with his ex-wife Sarah.”
“Relations between her uncle and niece were not good. In some accounts, Andrew harshly described Meghan as an ‘opportunist’.”
Meghan and Harry stepped down as senior members of the royal staff in 2020, and the couple currently resides in the US.
The couple lives in Montecito with their children Prince Archie and four-year-old Princess Lilibet.
