Aston Villa v Liverpool: Women’s Super League match postponed following Matt Beard’s death

Liverpool’s Women’s Super League match in Aston Villa on Sunday Death of the former Principal Matt beard.
The 47 -year -old Beard directed Liverpool to WSL headings in 2013 and 2014 and returned to a second spell in 2021.
Aston Villa said in a statement, “Last night after the tragic death of former Liverpool female head coach Matt Beard, Liverpool’s players were offered the opportunity to postpone today’s Barclays WSL fixtures.” He said.
“We apologize to fans for late notification and inevitable discomfort, but we will want to understand at this sad time. The club will be in contact with the rearranged fixture.
“In the meantime, our thoughts and condolences remain with Matt’s family.”
Beard started his management career in 2008 with Millwall Lionseses and won promoted in his first season. A three -year spell in Chelsea took them to a FA Cup final.
In 2013 and 2014, he won the titles of WSL with Liverpool and directed the club during the first Champions League campaign.
Beard also returned from Boston Breakers in the United States and in the UK with West Ham and Bristol City.
He returned to Liverpool in 2021 for a four -year period and returned Reds to WSL and helped to finish the seventh place the following season. The last job was a short time in Burnley.
It was also announced on Sunday that Burnley’s National League match was postponed against West Brom.
Women’s Super League, both WSL and WSL2 games before the start of the games reported to be silenced.
