The Bank of England, which implemented the change, said the switch to wildlife images created an opportunity to celebrate another important aspect of the nation.
This also makes the banknotes harder to counterfeit while making their security features more distinguishable, according to the central bank.
The audience added, “I think this is a completely unnecessary move. There will of course be a cost to changing this… I question where this country would be without a great leader like Winston Churchill.”
