Racist graffiti smeared over Hindu temple, Asian restaurants in Melbourne’s east
On Monday, he discovered graffiti with his six -year -old son at his car.
“I just came forward [of the restaurant] And my heart fell. I was like ‘wow, I can’t believe it was actually’. My son always goes to the restaurant with me, so he knows he will not be there … He just started reading, so he can read ‘home’ and ‘yellow’, but he didn’t understand what the last word was.
The same words were graffiti in the nearby Charles King humpback restaurant.
“This was probably the hardest thing for me, I had to explain to him… I just told him he had dirty graffiti. This is the only thing I can tell him.”
Graham said that his nine -year -old daughter took the online.
Since then, he cleaned the paint and shared the images of vandalism on social media. He said he was overwhelmed by the support of the community.
“Actually, it was great, the amount of customers, family and friends who sent us messages. I have never done anything so big in the past. They encourage us to continue.”
Elly said: ık We experienced a lot of solidarity from the community.
“People now ‘I will come to support your restaurant’ and ‘now we have listed dinner for Saturday’ says… There was someone who took more than an hour to come and eat.”
