Anthony Joshua injured in fatal car crash

Boxing champion Anthony Joshua was among those injured in a fatal car crash in Nigeria on Monday, authorities said.

According to multiple reports, Joshua was in the backseat of a vehicle traveling along the Ogun-Lagos Expressway when the crash occurred that killed two other people. Nigerian officials said Joshua suffered minor injuries and was otherwise “fine.”

Joshua is the son of British Nigerian parents. As a child he spent time at a boarding school in Nigeria, but returned to Britain after his parents divorced.

Earlier this month, he participated in a demonstration against Jake Paul. He got the 29th victory of his professional career by knocking out Paul in their fight.

Joshua became a three-time heavyweight champion. He has held the WBA Super Heavyweight Championship, the IBF Heavyweight Championship and the WBO Heavyweight Championship. He lost his titles to Oleksandr Usyk in September 2021.
