Ram Gopal Varma Compares Obsession With Urmila Matondkar’s Kaun

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma said that a scene featuring Inde Navarrette in the horror film “Obsession” reminded him of Urmila Matondkar’s performance in the directorial film “Kaun”. Varma shared a clip on his X sleeve on Sunday, which starts with a scene from “Kaun” and is followed by a clip from “Obsession”. “After watching ‘OBSESSION’, I remembered this photo of Urmila in ‘KAUN’,” she wrote in her caption.
The film is directed by Curry Barker and stars Michael Johnston as Bear Bailey and Navarrette as Nikki Freeman. It centers around Bailey, a shy, insecure record store worker who has a crush on her childhood friend and co-worker, Freeman. The film, released on May 29, grossed over $200 million worldwide.
Varma’s ‘Kaun’ was released in 1999 and revolved around Matondkar’s character, who gets trapped alone in her house on a stormy night and sees a news report on television about a dangerous serial killer. It also starred Manoj Bajpayee and Sushant Singh in important roles.
