Ram Mohan Naidu Calls Srikakulam a ‘District of Opportunities’

Visakhataptnam: Union civil aviation minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu on Friday termed Srikakulam a “zone of opportunities”, asserting that improved infrastructure and connectivity will boost growth and transform the region into a major development hub.

The minister, who toured the Amadalavalasa constituency along with Amadalavalasa MLA and State PUC chairman Kuna Ravikumar, said the coalition government was focusing on creating wealth through development rather than just distributing funds. He began his visit by offering special prayers at the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Vanjagi on the occasion of the temple’s 15th anniversary celebrations.

At Jaggusastrulapeta in Amadalavalasa Municipality, Ram Mohan Naidu laid the foundation stone of 33/11-KV substation, built at a cost of Rs 3.82 crore. He later inaugurated the BT road connecting Madanapuram junction to Allena village in Burja mandal. Built at a cost of ₹6 crore under NREGS, the 3.5 km road was completed within six months and shortened the travel distance by around 20 km, meeting a long-pending demand of local residents.

Speaking at a public meeting, the minister said improved road connectivity would improve economic activity and increase land values in the region. He assured of further development of infrastructure in Burja mandal and said that around 400 km of roads have been laid across the constituency. He also promised to approve a community hall, power lines and a bus stop through MPLADS funds.

Ram Mohan Naidu said villages in Andhra Pradesh are witnessing rapid progress with the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. He criticized previous governments, claiming that they made unrealistic promises without delivering meaningful development.

Highlighting the introduction of the “Super Six” welfare scheme, which includes pension, free LPG cylinders, free bus travel and Thalliki Vandanam programme, the minister said the government is focusing on welfare and development simultaneously.

MLA Kuna Ravikumar reiterated the government’s commitment to rural development and promised improvements in roads, drinking water supply, electricity, education and health facilities. Officials, public representatives and many residents attended the program.
