Actress Reese Witherspoon doubled down on her comments encouraging women to learn how to use artificial intelligence (AI) after receiving backlash for her original Instagram post.
The “Morning Show” and “Legally Blonde” actress gained attention last week with an Instagram video and post urging people to learn how to use AI in their daily lives before it’s too late.
“The AI revolution has begun and I need to learn as much as I can about AI and share it with all of you. Also, FYI: jobs done by women are 3 times more likely to be automated by AI, but women use AI 25% less than men on average. We don’t want to be left behind. Witherspoon faced backlash from commentators who suspected the actress was being paid by AI companies to endorse the technology. In a new Instagram Story post on Monday, stood behind his duty after “getting people talking”.
“To be clear, no one is paying me to talk about this. I’m just a curious person. My kids are learning AI tools, I know a lot of founders doing vibration coding, and I hear people using AI in EVERY business sector,” the post said.
Witherspoon explained that she is aware of “valid” economic and environmental concerns regarding AI and AI data centers.

“I don’t believe computers should replace humanity. I plan to learn as much as possible about this technological revolution so that I can be educated. If you want to learn with me, great, let’s do it! If you don’t, that’s okay too,” Witherspoon wrote.

But I feel like there’s a place for that… This is it. We just have to be friends in a dark way,” Bullock said.
