Reform UK issues chilling 2-word threat to Labour MPs ahead of Starmer | Politics | News

Reform UK has threatened to “carpet bomb” Labor MPs’ constituencies with campaign materials if they do not support a shoddy investigation into Sir Keir Starmer. The Prime Minister faces grave danger on Tuesday when MPs decide whether to launch a Privileges Committee investigation into whether the Labor leader misled Parliament about the Lord Mandelson scandal.

Sir Keir insisted in the House of Commons that “full due process” had been followed over his disastrous decision to give the former Labor ambassador the important job of Britain’s ambassador to Washington. The Prime Minister also said that, contrary to statements by former department chief Sir Olly Robbins, there was “no pressure put” on Foreign Office civil servants over Lord Mandelson’s security review. Speaker of the House of Commons Sir Lindsay Hoyle is allowing a debate on the matter to take place following pressure from Sir Keir’s leading critics, including Tory leader Kemi Badenoch.

MPs will then vote on the issue and Labor will whip its members to vote against it, despite calls from opposition parties for the vote to be free.

But they will face pressure from both sides after Reform home affairs spokesman Zia Yusuf wrote on social media site

Sir Keir then dramatically sacked Sir Olly, the former permanent undersecretary of state at the Foreign Office, after concerns emerged about Lord Mandelson’s security clearance.

The Mandarin said he was simply following vetting procedures and that there was “constant pressure” from Downing Street to approve the former ambassador’s leave.

Before the vote, Mr. McSweeney will present explosive evidence to the Foreign Affairs Committee; This could mean even more disastrous revelations for Sir Keir.
