Release of shock new royal book just days away – it already has TV deal | Royal | News

Book publisher Sphere described the 320-page book as a “fun, out-of-water romantic workplace comedy” about an American woman named Lauren Morgan who leaves her job at the White House for a job at Buckingham Palace.
Scobie co-wrote the book with US young adult fiction author Robin Benway.
Besides the book, Royal Return It has already been snapped up by Universal Television, which is developing a series based on the text.
Scobie will serve as writer, co-creator and executive producer alongside showrunner Emily Fox. Benway will also serve as executive producer.
Former Sphere Commissioning Editor Rebecca Roy bought the book from Meredith Miller at United Talent Agency, who represented Scobie, in a six-figure deal.
Sphere Fiction Senior Commissioning Editor Elisha Lundin said: “Royal Spin is a sharp, swoon-worthy romantic comedy with irresistible charm, witty jokes, and a behind-the-scenes dive into the inner workings of the palace.
“With an out-of-water heroine, a scandal-prone royal institution, and enough intrigue to keep readers hooked, Scobie and Benway offers a fresh, entertaining look at love and scandal in the most over-the-top settings.
“I can’t wait for readers to dive into this wildly entertaining romance.”
