A complaint was filed against IT GIAN TATA Consultancy Services (TCS) at the Ministry of Labor and Employment on the new bench policy called “coercive” and “punishment”. The new information technology employees, a group claiming to represent the workers in the country, Senate (NITES) criticized the company’s new counter policy and sent a letter to the ministry.
What is the counter policy?
TCS has brought a business partner distribution policy for each employee, which requires at least 225 billioned working days each year and effectively closes the bench time on 35 working days a year. According to a report of India on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, the policy, which is valid as of June 12, aims to minimize free time and optimize the use of labor.
“At any time, in the last 12 months, the partners should be allocated for at least 225 working days in the last 12 months,” he said.
If an employee does not work for at least 225 working days in the last 12 months and exceeds longer periods or 35 working days per year, it will affect its compensation, career progress, overseas distribution opportunities and employment expectations in TCS.
What are the concerns of IT union?
