Remains found in rural bushland believed to be missing Toowoomba woman Jana Armstrong

A man has been arrested and charged with murder after human remains were found in an isolated bushland in rural Queensland. a lost mother He was last seen at the beginning of the week.
Police were called to Esk Hampton Street at around 10.39pm on Saturday night, where officers said “remains had been found” and a crime scene had been established.
“The remains have not yet been formally identified, but investigators believe they belong to Jana Armstrong, who was reported missing from Newtown after being last seen on July 7,” police said.
“Investigators are in contact with Ms. Armstrong’s family. Forensic examinations are ongoing.”
A short time later a man was arrested on West St in Harris Town where he was charged with domestic violence murder.
He will appear in Toowoomba Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Ms. Armstrong was reported missing by family members.
The 30-year-old’s white Hyundai Kona was found unlocked and parked in the middle of the road at the corner of Jellicoe St and Gordon Ave in Toowoomba at 6am on Wednesday morning.
Ms Armstrong has a four-month-old child who police say is being cared for by relatives.
Investigators have appealed for CCTV or dashcam footage taken by motorists along Esk Hampton Rd and the New England Hwy between Toowoomba and Esk on July 7 and July 8.
