According to the official, it was unclear whether Prime Minister Modi would go to the rally site by road or wait for the weather to improve and try to reach Taherpur again by air.

It was reported that Prime Minister Modi addressed the rally over the phone due to travel disruption. “I apologize that the bad weather prevented me from reaching the venue in Bengal’s Nadia,” he said, PTI quoted him as saying.
He arrived in Kolkata early in the morning at 10.40 am and left for Nadia. Despite a huge crowd at Taherpur Netaji Park in Ranaghat, they could not see Prime Minister Modi in person as he addressed the rally virtually.

Meanwhile, earlier today, people gathered at Taherpur Netaji Park in Nadia, Ranaghat, waving national flags and chanting the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of his public address and inauguration of multiple development projects worth Rs 3,200 crore.

In a post published on X on Friday, the Chief Minister said that while people in West Bengal were benefiting from the Centre’s all-round development projects, they continued to suffer due to what he described as “mismanagement of the Trinamool Congress in every sector”.
“Asserting that the BJP is now the ‘only hope and trust’ of the people, Modi said that the excesses of the ruling party ‘cross all limits’.”
“Tomorrow, December 20, noon, I will address the BJP public meeting in Ranaghat. The people of West Bengal are benefiting from the central government’s multifaceted projects. But at the same time, they are falling victim to suffering due to Trinamool Congress’s misrule in every sector of the state. Trinamool’s plunder and intimidation has crossed all boundaries. So today, the BJP is the only hope and trust of the People,” Prime Minister Modi tweeted on X.
