The website added that the number of existing houses to be rented throughout the UK is 8% higher than the previous year, but it is still 27% lower than August 2019.
The average rents are rising fastest in north-west England, the average rents are 10% higher than a year and the lowest average rents in London are 2% higher annually.

Colleen Babcock, a property expert in Rightmove, said: “The current market has difficulties for both tenants and hosts.
“Although tenants who want to move have more options and less competition than the other tenants than other tenants, some may still be limited to record -level rents.”
“The landlords provide vital houses to the tenants and have increased taxation through stamp tax changes.
“It is important that it is attractive and appropriate for the tenants to have comfortable places to live.
“If more hosts are deported from the sector with more taxation from the sector, there will be tenants who lose long -term.”
