Rep. Al Green calls DHS Secretary Mullin ‘racist’ at committee hearing

Rep. Al Green, D-Texas, was filmed calling the Homeland Security Security Division. Markwayne Mullin is a “racist” focusing on the department’s finances, he called a House committee hearing Wednesday.
After the first outburst, Green told Mullin to “shut up.”
The Secretary of Homeland Security could be seen looking up in obvious surprise as Green continued the verbal assault and repeated, “Shut up.”
Mullin asked, “Did you just tell me to shut up?” he asked.

When the gavel sounded, Green shouted, “It’s my time.”
“I’m not going to let anyone call me a racist president,” Mullen calmly told Rep. Andrew Garbarino, R-New York, who serves as chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee.

Green denied making the comment before asking Garbarino to “tell him to shut up.”
The president called for the match to be suspended after Green escalated tensions in the House meeting.

Green has a history of aggressive outbursts; It was omitted from President Donald Trump’s first speech to a joint session of Congress in February for the second consecutive year.
He recently lost to freshman Rep. Christian Menefee in the Democratic primary for Texas’ 18th Congressional District.
