Report Crimes, Traffic Issues via WhatsApp: Police Remind Citizens

Hyderabad City Police has once again appealed to citizens to use WhatsApp helpline to report public issues and violations.

The service allows people to share information about crimes, traffic congestion, accidents and other violations through a simple text message, officials said. The helpline number 9490616555 is monitored by police personnel to ensure quick response and action.

The aim of the initiative is to strengthen communication between citizens and the police and make it easier for the public to reach them without visiting police stations.

Police said the system ensures effective handling of complaints by connecting citizens directly with officers of the rank of Sub-Inspector and above. The Ministry reiterated its commitment to protecting public safety and providing rapid assistance through digital platforms.
