Reporters duck for cover as gunshots heard and White House put ‘in lockdown’ | US | News

It was reported that the building was ‘on lockdown’ as 20 to 30 gunshots were heard by reporters outside, and these journalists were quickly directed to the press room by Secret Service officials.
Fox News reported that the attacker was neutralized by the Secret Service.

The reporter later shared a photo of an armed officer outside the door, saying: “Right now outside the press conference doors…
USSS officers with their guns drawn told us to go inside. The White House is currently on lockdown.”
Pictures shared on social media showed snipers on the roof of the building and another armed officer walking on the White House lawn.
In the footage shared on X, reporters can be seen trying to hide as soon as gunshots were heard, before armed police entered the frame to intervene in the incident.
