Republic Day celebrated with grandeur in Sathya Sai and Annamayya districts

Sri Sathya Sai District Collector A. Shyam Prasad and Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar participated in the 77th Republic Day celebrations at the parade here on Monday, January 26, 2026.
Addressing the meeting, the Collector said the Sri Sathya Sai region has immense potential for tourism and cultural renaissance, citing historical monuments such as Penukonda Fort and Lepakshi as well as cultural strengths such as Dharmavaram silk saris and puppetry.
He said the region has made significant progress in industrial development and is providing job opportunities to rural youth. The Collector said that besides prioritizing irrigation and drinking water, the area is undergoing rapid transformation as a vibrant horticultural hub.
The highlight of the celebrations was the Police Dog Team demonstration, which highlighted skills in crime detection, drug detection and agility exercises. The district police also set up an informative stand demonstrating cybercrime prevention, fingerprint analysis and crime investigation tools. Officers and staff with outstanding service records were honored with DGP appreciation awards, certificates of merit and best service awards.
At Madanapalle in Annamayya district, District Collector Nishant Kumar unfurled the national flag and received a guard of honor from the police. He had previously gifted flowers to Mahatma Gandhi’s statue. Addressing officials, staff and students, the Collector highlighted the sacrifices of freedom fighters and urged citizens to uphold constitutional values, discipline and civic responsibility.
Joint Collector Shiv Narayan Sharma, District Revenue Officer D. Madhusudhan Rao, other senior officials, Collectorate staff and students attended the ceremony.
The celebrations at the Sainik School in Kalikiri mandal included an impressive parade led by the Shakti Daughters contingent and the XII. It included the Class Passing Out Parade. Cultural programmes, paintings on the theme “Swarna Andhra @2047”, academic and sports awards and the Principal’s speech strengthened patriotism, discipline and the importance of constitutional duty among the students.
