Urgent search for missing Brit after campervan ‘stolen’ near Valencia | World | News

An intensive search has been launched for the British woman who disappeared without a trace in Spain because she could not get on the ferry to England with her beloved dog. Wendy Iles was returning home from the Costa Blanca when she reportedly lost contact with her family. His daughter Louise suspects her passport was taken and her mobile phone was later switched off.

Concerned relatives contacted police, including Interpol and authorities in the UK, after Wendy was last heard from around 9pm on Sunday in the Alfafar area near Valencia. During their last conversation, Louise revealed that her mother appeared confused and that the caravan she was driving had been stolen.

Daughter Louise has made an urgent appeal for information, revealing that her mother’s Springer Spaniel dog was with her when she went missing. In an appeal on social media, Louise revealed that her mother was last known to be around Silla, Alfafar and Russafa, just south of the city of Valencia, and was heading to Caen in northern France to catch a ferry back to the UK.

He did not make the planned crossing on May 23.

It is stated that Wendy is 1.80 tall and has her dog, Springer Spaniel, with her. Her concerned daughter appealed for anyone with information to get in touch and reached out to online communities to raise awareness among her fellow gray nomads. Responding to questions on a stranger’s forum about why she believed the vehicle was stolen, Louise explained: “My last conversation with him was going to the location where the vehicle wasn’t there and he reported it stolen.” Mirror.

In an update published late on Monday after receiving the Interpol reference number, Louise said: “If anyone I know has family, friends or contacts in Spain, can you please share this post with them to check if my mother has been seen in any way in the Valencia area?”

He also expressed frustration with the difficulties in tracking his mother’s movements.

“British police will not monitor bank transactions until they are classified as high risk, and Spanish police will not conduct searches until 48 hours have passed,” he said.

Louise also revealed that Wendy seemed disoriented during their last conversation and did not check into the hotel Wendy had recommended while she tried to resolve issues with the caravan.

“The last news was received from the Alfafar region yesterday at 21.00 UK time,” he wrote.

“He is very confused and did not come to the hotel where I suggested he stay while we sorted out his caravan.

Louise also revealed that Wendy seemed disoriented during their last conversation and did not check into the hotel Wendy had recommended while she tried to resolve issues with the caravan.

“The last news was received from the Alfafar region yesterday at 21.00 UK time,” he wrote.

“He is very confused and did not come to the hotel where I suggested he stay while we sorted out his caravan.

“The phone has not been active since 21.45 yesterday.”

As concerns grow about Wendy’s whereabouts, the Iles family continues to appeal for information.

The UK Foreign Office has been contacted for comment.
