Corby said he expected two other buyers to bid at the auction, but neither of them did. The only offer was a dealer offer at the bottom of the range.
Corby said that an agreement could not be reached in post-auction negotiations and the house was offered for sale for a single price of $1,795,000. It was also the seller’s reserve.
“I think there are a few now that follow the same model that they then sell,” he said.
“I feel like interest rates are driving the market in a big way because there’s no hope of any rate cuts any time soon… [new buyers are] “They’re still trying to figure out where they sit in the market and how much they can pay, so there’s some hesitation.”
