Revenue inspector caught taking ₹10,000 bribe by ACB in Warangal district

The Anti-Corruption Bureau on Thursday (May 14) arrested a revenue inspector in Warangal district while accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 from the complainant to process mutation of ancestral property.

The accused was identified as Gattikopula Rambabu, revenue inspector in Duggondi mandal of Tahsildar office.

According to the ACB, the official demanded bribe to conduct field survey, submit the verification report to the Tahsildar and facilitate mutation of the complainant’s ancestral property.

Officials said the accused was trapped by ACB Warangal Range officials while accepting the amount at the Tahsildar office on May 14. The coin was seized from the suspect’s hand.

He was arrested and produced before the special court dealing with SPE and ACB cases in Warangal. Further investigation is ongoing.

The complainant’s identity has been withheld for security reasons. ACB appealed to the public to report cases of bribery by public officials through the toll-free helpline 1064.
