Rideshare driver accused of rape started his own driving company
A rideshare driver accused of stalking, rape and coercive control started his own driving company just days before appearing in court for the charges.
Benjamin Willem Pereira, 29, of Ferny Hills, is accused of harassing two women he met while driving for a ride-sharing company and a third woman with whom he had a previous relationship.
Pereira registered his private driving company, Transport Me, which offers packages worth $800, according to its website, on Nov. 28, 2025, three days before his first court appearance on the charges.
The website features cartoon images of a white Mercedes-Benz, the model of the car Pereira is accused of driving when he allegedly committed the crimes.
A 21-year-old woman told police she shared social media information with the rideshare driver in a white Mercedes-Benz A45 on Nov. 1, 2024. Pereira then allegedly sent messages and threatened to go to his workplace.
He said he never spoke to the driver again before reporting his alleged behavior to police.
About six months later, a 27-year-old woman began a relationship with Pereira, police said.
He allegedly accessed her phone and threatened to attack her. When she tried to break off the relationship in July 2025, police allege he went to her home and sexually assaulted her.
These and similar allegations by a 20-year-old woman, dating back to 2020, were made by police at a press conference on Wednesday and called for other potential victims to get in touch.
“Based on the information we have, we believe there are probably other women who have been subjected to this behavior by this driver,” Senior Sergeant Robert Lowry said.
Police searched Pereira’s home in November last year, seizing mobile phones and a laptop, then charging him with one count each of rape, coercive control and use of a carriage to threaten or harass, and two counts of stalking.
The man has since been released on bail and is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on April 17.
