In order to prevent projects from stalling due to fluctuating bitumen prices due to the West Asian crisis, the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has introduced the star rate system for construction materials, limited to bitumen, cement and steel. The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) is also likely to adopt the same method, including completing the pending works in Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout Plan (NPKL).

Additionally, GBA decided to extend the deadline for projects affected by the disruptions by 33 days. This essentially means that many projects will not be completed by the onset of monsoon, the deadline set by Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar for all road works.
