A tip about a body in the lake turned into a decades-long investigation into millionaire real estate heir Robert Durst. a new Fox Nation original documentary.

“Did He Kill Them All? The Robert Durst Investigation” It traces Durst’s deadly journey from New York to Texas to California and includes interviews with those closest to the case, including investigators, friends, family and a judge who presided over one of the high-profile cases.

In the series, which reexamines the disappearance of Durst’s wife, Kathleen “Kathie” McCormack Durst, as well as the murders of her friend Susan Berman and neighbor Morris Black, resulting in Durst’s legal reckoning, the multimillionaire is described as “weird” and “not your typical killer.”

Kathie has never been found to this day.

Eighteen years after her disappearance, then-Westchester County District Attorney Jeanine Pirro—now the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia—announced that the case would be reopened and investigated, this time as a murder.

That November, Durst moved to Galveston, Texas, to escape renewed media attention over the disappearance. She communicated with her landlady only through written letters and pretended to be a mute woman named Dorothy Ciner. He met Morris Black in Galveston.

Durst was tried for Black’s murder. He stated that he got into a physical fight with Black over the gun and shot him in the head in an act he claimed was self-defense. He also admitted on the stand to dismembering Black’s body.

The jury found him not guilty and Durst was acquitted.

“I didn’t kill Susan Berman, but if I did, I would lie about it,” Durst said at his next hearing. He was convicted of first-degree murder for shooting Berman at point-blank range in his Los Angeles-area home.

After a lengthy legal saga, he was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in a Los Angeles County courtroom. Prosecutors claimed he killed Kathie in an attempt to silence her, as she was expected to meet with authorities about how she provided a false alibi for Durst after his 1982 disappearance.
