Patricia Sucacahua Valencia, 32, became distressed shortly after surgery and was taken by ambulance to another medical facility, but doctors were unable to revive her.
His death was confirmed on Monday, October 20.
Autopsy revealed that this was caused by cerebral edema and pulmonary edema; This is a dangerous buildup of fluid in the brain and lungs that can lead to serious complications and respiratory failure.
Sun It was revealed that the medical report concluded that Valencia suffered a sudden anaphylactic shock towards the end of the surgery or immediately afterwards.
Although investigators have ruled out traumatic injury, the surgeon, anesthesiologist and technical assistant involved in the procedure are still under investigation.
Authorities said the surgeon was a general practitioner rather than a qualified plastic surgeon, although he had previously performed multiple cosmetic procedures and shared the results online before deleting his social media accounts.
Local media in Arequipa, Peru, reported that the doctor was married to one of the victim’s relatives and rented an operating room at the municipal Arequipa Hospital. Authorities described this arrangement as unusual.
Investigators also allege that Valencia did not complete her pre-surgery tests at that hospital, but instead had them done at a private clinic where the same doctor worked.
He is currently wanted by authorities on suspicion of manslaughter and his current whereabouts are unknown.
