Rolls-Royce invests $75 million to expand South Carolina plant

British Aviation and Defense Company Rolls-Royce announced that it has invested $ 75 million to expand the engine production facility in South Carolina, Aiken.
The MTU series, which is used in reserve power systems for investment, data centers and other critical infrastructures, will increase the output of 4000 diesel engines.

The company said that expansion will create 60 new businesses, increase skills, and strengthen Rolls-Royce’s US industrial presence.
The movement also reflects Rolls-Royce’s transition to energy and power systems beyond the traditional aviation focus.
Rolls-Royce said that as a part of the investment, it will process the EKT MTU series 4000 components in the USA. The company currently produces many components in Germany and sends them to the US as finished goods.
“We are proud to support the increasing demand for the reliable, domestic energy systems that strengthen our country’s energy independence and security of our country.” He said.
This is the second major announcement for the company in two days.

Rolls-Royce SMRS may export six reactors to the Czech Republic within the scope of the agreement.
The South Carolina site will now be a center in Rolls-Royce’s North American Power Systems strategy. The first stage of the expansion will begin in the first quarter of 2026 and production will begin in July 2027.
