WW3 fears explode as NATO scrambles warplanes after savage Russian missile attack | World | News

NATO has been forced to scramble warplanes near Ukraine’s borders in the face of Russia’s new ferocious missile and drone attacks. The scare attacks coincided with Donald Trump meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping and the US president saying they would work together to end the war.

But Vladimir Putin has shown no signs of wanting to stop the war. The devastating attack led to power outages across entire regions of Ukraine as Russia sought to disrupt electricity and heating supplies as winter approached.

In addition to those killed and injured in Putin’s bombardment in Zaporozhye, there were also six children, three boys and three girls. It is feared that more people will be trapped under the rubble of a civilian dormitory in Zaporizhzhya.

Russia has unleashed strategic bombers in one of the most intense offensives of the year, including Kinzhal (or Dagger) hypersonic missiles as well as Kalibr and Iskander.

NATO fighters in Poland entered the fray amid a “state of highest alert” in the border areas.

“Due to the attack of the Russian Federation on targets located on the territory of Ukraine, Polish and allied air forces began to operate in our airspace,” Warsaw’s operational command said.

“The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces has mobilized all available forces and resources at its disposal.

“Mission fighter pairs and early warning aircraft were mixed, ground air defense and radar reconnaissance systems were raised to the highest alert level.

“These operations are preventive in nature and are aimed at securing and protecting airspace, particularly in areas adjacent to threatened areas.

“The Operations Command of the Polish Armed Forces is monitoring the current situation and subordinate forces and resources are ready to respond immediately.”

The day before, it had been revealed that Poland had mixed two fighter jets to stop a turboprop-powered Russian Ilyushin-20 reconnaissance plane with its transponder turned off.

Two Polish MiG-29s “successfully intercepted, visually detected and escorted” the Russian spy plane.

Russia’s attacks across Ukraine appeared to be timed to coincide with Trump-Xi talks in South Korea; This shows Putin’s determination to continue a war that has now lasted 1,345 days.

Trump said he and Xi would work together to stop the war; It appears that Putin intends to derail this goal.

“Ukraine stood up very strongly,” he said.

“We talked about this for a long time. And we’re both going to work together to see if we can do something. I think we agreed that the parties are locked in, fighting, and sometimes you just have to let them fight. It’s crazy.”

“But he will help us, and we will work together on Ukraine. We will work together to resolve the war with Russia and Ukraine.”

This move, if approved by China, would be significant because Russia receives important war materials from Beijing and Beijing in turn receives large amounts of oil from Moscow.

Putin’s forces are hitting oil and gas facilities with a massive combined force, while also targeting railways.

In addition to thermal power plants, which are vital for heating homes and workplaces in winter, hydroelectric power plants and substations were also hit.

The Ladyzhynska thermal power plant in the Vinnytsia region was among several energy facilities targeted during Russia’s frenzied overnight attacks. Water and heating were cut off in Burshtyn in the western Ivano-Frankivsk region.

This came as NATO forces shot down a drone near a military base occupied by US forces in Estonia. The Camp Reedo facility is less than 30 miles from the Russian border.

Two drones were detected and one was shot down. The incident occurred on October 17 but came to light recently.

“At 16.30 on October 17, the Allies detected unmanned aerial vehicles flying in the immediate vicinity of the 2nd Infantry Brigade military base; one of them was shot down by an anti-drone rifle,” said Liis Vaksmann, spokesman for the headquarters of the Estonian Defense Forces.

Last month, three Russian MiG-31 fighter jets entered Estonian airspace over the Gulf of Finland and remained there for 12 minutes.
