Rajasthan shocker: Four friends burn dead man’s finger, toe to fake insurance claim

Bhilwara Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Singh said the case was registered based on a complaint filed by Chamba Ben of Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He claimed that his 36-year-old son Deepak fell seriously ill and was admitted to GCS Medical College in Ahmedabad on May 7.
Allegation of conspiracy to turn death into an insurance claim
According to the police, four men named Vishwas Suraj, Rakesh Sansi, Bhikha Bhai and Dalu Gadri, reportedly friends of the deceased, allegedly conspired to turn his death into a fake insurance claim. They are said to be planning to collaborate with a doctor in Bhilwara to prepare an autopsy report indicating accidental death.
Allegations of victim swapping and post-mortem mutilation
The complainant alleged that Vishwas convinced the family to shift Deepak to a private hospital in Rajasthan and arranged transportation to Bhilwara. He further stated that the family was taken to Dalu Gadri’s house on Maloula Road, where Deepak died while he and his grandson were present in the room.
He claimed that after being sent away from home, Vishwas and Rakesh stayed inside and burned Deepak’s right hand finger and left toe with a matchstick to create injury marks consistent with an accident.
The plan collapsed in the hospital, the police were alerted
Police said the plan fell apart when the group reached Mandal Hospital in Bhilwara district and found that the doctor they intended to trust was not there. After Deepak was brought in and pronounced dead, hospital staff alerted the authorities.
Arrests were made, one of the suspects escaped
While police arrested Vishwas Suraj (34), Bhikha Bhai (30) and Dalu Gadri (36), Rakesh Sansi is still at large. A case was registered at Gandhinagar police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Investigators are also looking into whether the defendant has been involved in similar fraud attempts before.
