Royal chef says ‘ban one ingredient from kitchen’ – it ruins fried eggs

The royal chef has urged people to “ban” an ingredient from our kitchens by sharing the best way to cook a fried egg. Darren McGrady was Queen Elizabeth II for 15 years. He served as chef to Elizabeth, Diana, Princess of Wales, and Princes William and Harry. He has also cooked for US Presidents including Reagan, Bush and Clinton.

With a resume like that, it’s safe to say that Darren has mastered the kitchen, especially everyday staples like eggs. He says there are a few important things to keep in mind if you want to cook it to perfection. Darren told us to avoid battery-powered eggs and choose “nice, organic” ones instead. She also warns against a common kitchen ingredient, saying we should “never, never, never” use it.
