King Charles was reportedly “shaken” by Princess Eugenie’s move, just weeks after he publicly congratulated her on her third pregnancy. After Eugenie shared the news of her pregnancy and the birth of her third child this summer on May 4, the King released a statement saying he was “delighted” for his niece and her young family.
The King’s decision to share his congratulations publicly appeared to show the love and affection he still has for his nephews amid the chaos of the Epstein scandal. However, it emerged the King was feeling “shaken” by his links to disgraced father Andrew after Eugenie stepped out at an event in the UAE so soon after the announcement.
The Daily Mail reported: “… Almost three weeks later, I am told, Eugenie immediately wiped her slate clean when she attended a promotional event in London for Discovery Dunes, an ultra-luxury golf and property development based in Dubai – exactly the sort of project her father, whose love for golf, money and the United Arab Emirates seemingly has no bounds, would once have been involved with.
“Her husband Jack Brooksbank is also involved in the project, but as the Daily Mail’s royal source told me: ‘It was jarring to see Eugenie following in her father’s footsteps and in such a high-profile way so soon after the King put a metaphorical arm around her shoulder, holding an announcement about her pregnancy at the palace.”
