Royal Family LIVE: Firm ‘braces for crisis’ as ‘Meghan and Harry plot UK return’ | Royal | News

The Royal Family may be bracing itself for “trouble ahead” if Prince Harry and Meghan visit the UK this year. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex live in the United States, where they are raising their children Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie, after stepping back from royal duties in 2020.

But Prince William and Princess Kate have reportedly hired a crisis management expert ahead of the Sussexes’ possible visit to these shores. Liza Ravenscroft, who has a background in crisis management, has been hired by the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Mail on Sunday reports. Ms. Ravenscroft was reportedly recommended by Julian Payne, former communications secretary to Charles and Queen Camilla and current CEO of Edelman.

A source said: “It is hardly a coincidence that one of his most senior and respected staff has taken on a key role in William’s office following a period of turmoil and a period in which they sought closer harmony between Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace as minds turned to William’s eventual succession.”

Richard Eden, the Daily Mail’s Daily Editor and royal commentator, suggested the Welsh might have known “there could be trouble ahead”. He said recent stories about the Sussexes’ return to Britain “served to put pressure on the King and the rest of the Royal Family to roll out the red carpet for the Sussexes, even though the California-based couple have never apologized for their disgraceful attacks.”
