It has been claimed that King Charles’ decision to offer an olive branch and royal residence to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Archie and Lilibet would be seen as a betrayal of the Princess of Wales. Mail Columnist Amanda Platell said the reunion would leave Kate feeling slightly betrayed as she returns to public life after her battle with cancer, having faithfully filled the void of royal duties created by the Sussexes.
It highlights their history of cruelty towards Kate, from the allegations in Finding Freedom and Spare to Meghan’s false Netflix claim that Kate is “not a hugger”. Ms Platell said Prince William believed his father had made a serious misjudgment and insisted there was no place for Harry or Meghan in Britain.
He added: “William, you must stand firm and protect your family against manipulation by the Sussexes, which has already been derided by some as the ’emotional blackmail’ of a frail old father held hostage by his opportunistic son and greedy wife. Most importantly, William, protect Kate.”
