Meghan Markle’s release of previously unseen photos from the Sussex couple’s wedding day could be a marketing move for one of her new candles. Meghan posted 24 wedding photos to her 4.5 million followers on Instagram on Tuesday to celebrate her eighth wedding anniversary with Prince Harry.
The photos included images of the couple dancing and smiling, the ceremony itself, as well as images of Sir Elton John performing at the wedding. Alison Boshoff. The Daily Mail’s editor-at-large suggested the “photo dump” was intended to “sway” people into buying a new candle from Meghan’s As Ever brand.
Speaking on the Palace Confidential podcast, he said: “Meghan [for their previous anniversary] She posted a picture of the cork board, which is a sort of mood board that shows how in love they are, including baby scans and all… but this year is very different.
“I’m wondering why? May I draw your attention to a very beautiful candle called ‘519’? As you know, Americans are reversing history, this is their wedding date, and they brought out an anniversary candle.”
“I can’t help it right now – call me a terrible person – but I’m afraid this huge, candid photo dump was meant to channel people because they really need to make some money this year. This is the year their brand really needs to work, otherwise the whole gear will fall apart.”
