Meghan Markle “needs Harry” to stay current and achieve success in her own business ventures. Since stepping down from royal duties five years ago, the Duchess of Sussex has sought commercial success through a variety of means, including a lucrative deal with Netflix.

Despite this, Meghan continued to criticize her brief tenure in the Royal Family after marrying Prince Harry, most recently suggesting the couple needed time to “heal” in the US after stepping down from their roles. Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, suggested that the mother-of-two’s business instincts and royal ties were tightly linked. “Without the royal label, people aren’t interested,” Ms Seward said The Sun’s Royal Exclusive podcast. “She needs Harry. Harry needs her and she loves him. She needs Harry because without him [him]who’s that? Just another person trying to flog their makeup or food. She has to stand out from the crowd.” Before marrying the Duke of Sussex in 2018, Meghan made a name for herself both as an actor, as a cast member of TV show Suits, and as a philanthropist. She also founded and successfully ran a lifestyle website called The Tig.
