Royal Family LIVE: One senior royal ‘plans to avoid Harry and Meghan’ during UK visit | Royal | News

King Charles will not live at Buckingham Palace after its £369 million renovation is completed next spring, despite officials’ previous insistence that it would become his London home. The Prince and Princess of Wales have no intention of moving into the 775-room house either, as Forest Lodge on Windsor Manor has been billed as their “forever home”.

Revealed as part of annual royal finance reports revealing that the King and Prince of Wales paid more than £50 million in taxes during the Carolean period, Buckingham Palace confirmed that Charles and Camilla will continue to reside at their London home, Clarence House, when the 10-year refurbishment of the Monarchy Headquarters ends in March 2027.

The palace will continue to be a symbol of the Royal Family, hosting state banquets, dinners, garden parties and ceremonies as well as the central headquarters of the monarchy, but it will cease to be a residential home.
