Royal fans tear Meghan Markle apart for being ‘stuck in the past’ | Royal | News

Meghan Markle has been criticized by Royal Family fans for being “stuck in the past” and clinging to British rituals in her latest newsletter for her lifestyle brand As Ever. Explaining that she still enjoys a cup of tea, Meghan explained the importance of slowing down and enjoying a “cuppa.”
She wrote: “We love turning a daily ritual like a cup of tea into a quiet invitation to slow down. A proper tea time doesn’t have to be about perfection, it needs to be about presence.” In her newsletter, the Duchess of Sussex explains how to create the perfect environment for enjoying tea. He writes: “Start with the table: not crowded, keep it in view – a gently flickering candle, a neatly folded sheet and teas ready to brew.”
But Meghan’s determination to keep ties with Britain alive despite her short stint in the Royal Family has left Firm fans stunned online.
One account reacted: “It’s truly the past! This is literally The Tig 2.0 and he hasn’t moved on in his head!”
A second person agreed, adding: “I don’t believe Meghan understands that British culture is about much more than just tea. Beyond the fact that the children are deliberately kept from getting to know their family, think of all the aspects of their father’s ‘home country’ that he’s missing out on.”
A third fan reacted: “He doesn’t even like the Royal Family but he’s going to take that title away.”
A fourth joked: “How did we all manage to tell us the most basic, uncreative things ever before Meghan Markle came into our lives?”
One final fan noted: “That said, we don’t really drink tea in California. It’s more of a coffee culture. So it’s definitely not marketing to us!”
In her newsletter, Meghan details how to create the perfect environment to enjoy tea. She says: “Start with the table: make sure it’s not crowded; a gently flickering candle, a neatly folded sheet, and teas ready to brew.”
As for next steps, Meghan adds: “Follow a few traditions: Heat the pot, pour carefully, offer milk or lemon. Add something sweet: a spoonful of berries on the croissant. Then let the conversation continue until the last pour.”
Meghan’s latest post also unveiled the ‘When the Day Slows Down’ set, which includes Signature Candle No. 084, Signature Candle No. 519, Herbal Hibiscus Tea and Lemon Ginger Tea. The set is priced at $132 (£114).
Meghan writes: “A little ritual to end the day. Something warm on the table. Something gently burning in the room. This set is designed for the quiet hours when the pace slows, the lights are dimmed, and there’s nowhere else you need to be. Light a candle, brew a cup of tea, and let the day slowly fade away.”
