Royal ladies day out! Carole Middleton shows she’s in the inner circle as she joins Zara, Queen Camilla and Princess Anne at Cheltenham

The ladies of the Royal Family were out in full force today as Queen Camilla, Zara Tindall and Princess Anne attended the Cheltenham Festival alongside Carole Middleton.

Zara and husband Mike Tindall are back for a second action-packed afternoon at the races as Ladies’ Day kicks off.

The royal couple put on a very loving display as they arrived at Gloucestershire racecourse on Wednesday; even though Carole didn’t show up for their appointment.

In one photo, the 71-year-old mother of the Princess of Wales enjoyed watching Mike plant a kiss on his wife’s lips as he attended the second day of ‘The Greatest Show on Earth’.

But the Tindalls appeared content to spend time with Carole, who can be seen arm-in-arm with Zara in another photo.

While Zara completed her Women’s Day outfit with a burgundy blouse, dark brown skirt and black suede boots, the duo was combined with almost identical gray coats.

The 44-year-old former Olympian added a fascinator and sunnies on an unusually bright day at the races.

Meanwhile, Carole paired her herringbone wool coat, which was strikingly similar to Zara’s, with a brown faux fur wrap, suede boots and a Hicks & Brown feather fedora.

Prince William’s mother-in-law was also seen carrying a vintage black Birkin as she looked her best for the event today.

Both women wore leather gloves as they made a dazzling appearance in Cheltenham before they were joined by Queen Camilla and Princess Anne.

The royal couple put on a very affectionate show when they arrived at Gloucestershire racecourse on Wednesday, despite Carole Middleton going on a date.

The Queen arrived for Women’s Day in a camel coat with a brown suede skirt and matching boots, while Camilla, 78, completed her look with a flashy feathered hat.

Shortly after, the Princess Royal was seen heading onto the field in a forest green ensemble, which she paired with a brightly colored silk scarf.

It comes after the Cheltenham Festival got off to a stylish start as glamorous racers clad in tweeds and furs arrived in Gloucestershire for the four-day racing event.

With spring approaching and the event marking the start of the British social season, revelers quickly got into the party spirit on the first day of the festival.

Cheltenham participants, who aroused great interest in terms of fashion as well as horse racing itself, paraded around the racetrack in their flashy suits, tweed jackets and knee-high boots.

British fashion designer Jade Holland Cooper entered the theater wearing a navy blue and green checked peplum jacket and a tweed skirt compatible with her own brand.

A favorite of the Princess of Wales, the Holland Cooper founder paired her outfit with subtle fascination and burgundy leather accessories like boots and a bag.

He was joined by perfectly coiffed women in hip-hugging dresses, fur-lined jackets, tailored suits and trench coats, drinking champagne while enjoying a sunny day in the countryside.

Revelers gathered around large screens to watch the action as drinks flowed freely.

While there were plenty of dashing women at today’s event, the men certainly held their own; some opted for brightly colored flashy suits and whimsical windbreakers and coats.

Zara, one of Cheltenham’s regulars, also showed off a stylish look with The Fold’s navy blue wool skirt suit.

The king’s niece’s striking teal hat added a bold touch to her look and complemented the emerald bow blouse visible under her jacket.

Elsewhere, after making a fiery entrance, Georgia Toffolo was seen sipping a pint of Guinness as she posed for photos before the races started.

The Made in Chelsea star, 31, revealed her outfit in a post on Instagram, admitting her red suit “might be totally crazy and a bit controversial for Cheltenham”.

“You definitely won’t miss me on the course,” the reality TV star joked while modeling a two-piece Chanel suit she bought in New York last September.

“I waited all these months to reveal it,” Georgia wrote on Instagram.

She completed her look with a black turtleneck by Intimissimi, tights by Calzedonia, and Massimo Dutti shoes.

Georgia also showed off her thrift purse charm (a leather horse) and declared she was ‘buzzing’ that Cheltenham had finally arrived.

Guests were also pleased to discover that festival organizers had stayed true to their word by dropping the price of a pint of Guinness to £7.50 for this year’s event.

As detailed by Daily Mail Sport in September, the decision to cut prices came as a way of enticing racing fans to return to the four-day event after attendance plummeted.

In 2025, 218,839 people flocked to Prestbury Park; that number was down more than 10,000 from the previous year, when attendance was just south of 230,000.

On Women’s Day, which was a Wednesday last year, only 41,949 people came through the doors; This was the lowest crowd figure seen on a single day in a quarter of a century.

Many punters blamed the rising costs of attending and enjoying Cheltenham as the main factor in no-shows; In 2025 a pint of Guinness stood at £7.80, almost on the £8 mark.
