For most of us, going to work on your birthday is the last thing you want to do. However, it is not easy for the King, who turns 77 on Friday, to take a day off, put his feet up and raise a glass or two.

Instead, the workaholic monarch treats his birthday like any other workday. On Friday he traveled to South Wales with his wife for three engagements. Despite bad weather thanks to Storm Claudia, Charles smiled and laughed throughout his dates, including a visit to Cyfarthfa Castle, where he was joined by Gavin & Stacey star Ruth Jones and TikTok star Lewis Leigh.

Since being diagnosed with cancer early last year, the King has been absolutely determined to continue his duties. Although he continues to receive regular treatment, royal sources insist he is focusing on work. This weekend Charles will no doubt be reflecting on last year’s lows and highs.

He may be worried that his younger brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s scandals and his ongoing family feud with son Prince Harry will overshadow his personal achievements. But this is far from the case.

Although Andrew has been in the media spotlight in recent weeks, he was stripped of his princely title and
After leaving the Windsor estate, the King achieved many important victories. His skillful handling of the US President Donald TrumpCharles proved a master of soft diplomacy to help establish closer links between the Church of England and the Roman Catholic Church.

Many people view her reign as Queen Elizabeth II’s. While many thought there might be a bridge between Elizabeth’s historical legacy and relatable royalty Prince William, they were proven wrong by the King’s brilliance of statesmanship. Many leaders have tried and failed to woo the controversial US President, but the King won him over on the field and is credited with easing relations between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

And he managed to strengthen Britain’s relationship with Canada, flying around the world to deliver a landmark speech during a whirlwind 20-hour visit.

In a world where doom and gloom are fairly shared, amidst budget uncertainty, global conflict and the rise of extremism, let us not forget the positive role of the Royal Family, a unifying institution that works hard to support thousands of organizations and charities every day.

Prince George at training

He may be shying away from puberty, but Prince George is taking a more active role in royal life.

Last weekend, she made her debut at the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall, one of the biggest royal events of the year.

As her father, the Prince of Wales, returned from Brazil on commercial flights, the heir apparent joined his mother and grandfather in the front row for the touching performance.

This isn’t the first time young George has proven he’s the king in training. In May, he joined his parents at a special tea party for veterans to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day. What the engagements show is that William and Catherine prepared him for the future.

The couple carefully craft royal appearances of this magnitude without the companionship of his siblings, gradually exposing him to a life of royal duties.

Another Sussex PR Disaster

Controversies are never far behind when it comes to Harry and Meghan. And last week, a strange incident broke out when some photos of the couple emerged from American socialite Kris Jenner’s lavish birthday party in Hollywood.

The duke and duchess were photographed arriving at the celebrity bash holding hands, and photos of them partying the night away were later shared on social media, but were quickly removed. It was revealed that Harry and Meghan requested the deletion of photos shared on Kris and Kim Kardashian’s Instagram.

However, the reason behind this remains unclear. Sussex sources initially claimed this was due to the pair being in control.
The photo consent form said “no,” but the Kardashian clan has since said no such form exists. The whole story is strange, especially since Meghan regularly posts photos of herself and her family on her own Instagram account.

Perhaps they were trying to regain control of the narrative, as the pair’s attendance at a party in Los Angeles was compared to the attendance of royal staff observing solemn Remembrance events in the UK.

Whatever the reason, it’s just another PR nightmare for a couple desperate to improve their image and prove they’re part of the Hollywood elite. Upsetting one of the powerful families in show business isn’t the way to go either.

Call me Catherine

For years, the media has referred to our future Queen as “Kate” or “Kate Middleton”, but this is not a nickname used by the royal, her family or close friends. You won’t see me or the team writing about Kate from now on; she is Catherine.

Meanwhile, the BBC came under fire on Tuesday after its reporters repeatedly used the senior royal’s maiden name when commenting on her attendance at the Armistice Day ceremony. Another mistake in a rather disastrous week for the national broadcaster.
