RTI Commission dealing with 18,000 pending cases

In order to increase transparency and public accountability, as part of the state -wide campaign, the TaLangana State Information Right (RTI) Commission started its tours at the regional level as the first stop on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.

State Chief Information Commissioner Chandrasekhar Redy, Commissioners troubled Ayodhya Reddy, Desham Bhupal, PV Srinivas Rao, Mohisin Parveen and Merla Vaishnavi, together with a series of meetings and awareness programs in the Medak integrated collection office.

A RTI Awareness Conference held at the Prajavani Hall aimed to educate public information officials (PIOs) on legal provisions and responsibilities under the RTI law. There was a regional collector Rahul Raj.

Mr. Chandrasekhar Redy emphasized the importance of the RTI Law and firstly announced that 18,000 cases are currently waiting with the commission due to the lack of response of the departments in the last decade. Authorized, government offices to establish citizen rental boards and information requests within 30 days when the law is compulsory by the law should respond.

He also announced that the commission decided to clean up all the cases waiting until August and that it is working to obtain zero sagging in 30 departments in the next two months. Authorized, awareness attempts have already dealt with 11 regions and until March next year, 17 departments to provide full solutions to waiting for applications to provide full solutions to the whole of the entire region, he added.
